Our Story

C-Tech began life in 1997 when founder Alex Vallings spotted a gap in the market for high-performance carbon fiber yacht masts. Almost 25 years later and C-Tech has moved on from its humble beginnings in a farm shed in West Auckland to a globally recognised, premium carbon composites manufacturer.

C-Tech stays true to its sailing roots where the ability to get out in front and stay there demands a finely tuned set of skills, attitude, and hard-won experience. For C-Tech that means intimately understanding the requirements of our customers and evolving our skill sets by constantly rethinking our materials, designs and manufacturing techniques.

Our inventive and highly motivated team have developed countless custom-designed, high specification carbon composite products and have fun staying true to our company mission to ‘Make cool things go fast’.

Quality and service that redefines what it means to be a global manufacturer and supplier

Fuelling our customers' success is how we build strong relationships and is key to partnerships that continue long after the first order. We work tirelessly to make remarkable carbon fiber products and solutions with the best materials. Our technical experts find ways to optimise performance, reduce costs and deliver the best results for your business.

"We are a customer of C-Tech battens on Kaizen and had heard about some of their Americas Cup work, so when we came to build a new keel we put C-Tech on the list to approach. Coming from our One Design Sailing background we know that C-Tech deliver both quality and precision and as passionate sailors themselves, you are going to get ideas and contribution to a better end product."

"C-tech have really stepped our programme up another level this year, contributing greatly to getting our car down 20kg on last season! Their carbon is second to none in terms of both looks and strength! It has held up flawlessly to a lot of abuse while running on tracks with both rocks and large clumps of dirt. The perfect option to step up your race programme next season!"

Learn more about our capabilities

C-Tech produces a diverse range of high quality parallel and tapered tubing for a wide spectrum of industries. The composite materials, which include pre-impregnated carbon fibre, glass fibre and carbon/glass mixes, share the common benefits of strength, lightness, stiffness, resilience and chemical and corrosion resistance.

Most of our composite tubeware involves relatively short manufacturing runs for specialised applications. In many situations, C-Tech’s problem-solving capabilities and close customer interaction prove invaluable.In-house CNC machining capability allows C-Tech to supply moulds and machined metal parts that can be assembled with composite tubes to provide a complete product solution.

C-Tech also has a 15m long Autoclave which can be used to produce complex moulded parts and high quality surface finishes. Autoclave Technical Specifications.
