Boat of the RYA Volvo Dinghy Show 2011

The new Ellway 6, Aardvark Technologies built Cherub "Eleanor" won the 'Concours d'Elegance' and was titled the Daily Sails 'boat of the show' at the RYA Volvo dinghy show.  Eleanor has a C-Tech double spreader carbon fibre mast, the spec' is beefed up with high modulus carbon fibre in order to stiffen the top of the spar.  Kevin Ellway's Ellway 5 has C-Tech spars and is a current National Championship winner.  Read more here Daily sail article RYA Volvo Dinghy Show

What is a Cherub?

The Cherub is a 2 person, 12ft long high performance racing skiff with a spinnaker and trapeze.  Cherub's are fast and offer exciting down wind sailing with their large asymmetric kites.

The Cherub is a restricted class, allowing amateur designers and builders flexibility.  Owners can choose their gear from a wide range of suppliers of spars, sails, foils & fittings.  Building your own one off design is feasible and a rewarding experience.  Modern composite construction methods make it possible to build your own Cherub partially or fully.
