C-Tech's company background
In 1997 Alex Vallings started C-Tech to take advantage of a gap in the market for high performance carbon fibre dinghy masts.
With an engineering background, years of sailing experience and a strong knowledge of composite material properties Alex Vallings has built C-Tech’s reputation as a company that manufactures superior, high-quality marine products and incorporates leading-edge technology and design to provide maximum performance benefit.
As new processes and materials become available (e.g. carbon fibre, urethane
foam, resin infusion) they are introduced into C-Tech products. Manufacturing processes are enhanced by custom-built machinery, making small product runs and one-off items more cost-effective. The ability to design and build machinery in-house enables C-Tech to work on the development of new product lines.
C-Tech started exporting carbon mast products to the high-performance sailing dinghy market in 1998. A wide range of carbon masts, carbon fibre tubing and carbon fibre sail battens are now supplied to customers world-wide. Exports make up 80% of C-Tech's overall sales.

The C-Tech mission
